Families In Need

Typically, the holiday season is a popular time for community members to donate to organizations that support those in need.

But what happens  to these families at the start of the school year?

Or during the summer break?

Or when they are left without a home due to a fire?

Our committee offers support throughout the year.

Members of this committee work with Oswego county agencies and schools to determine family need throughout the year.  Food, clothing, toys and household items are donated by the members of the Children’s Board or are purchased with funds allocated for this purpose. Many times it is a combination of both.

Please note:  In order to address individual or family needs, we require a referral from a school nurse, teacher, counselor, or clergy, and you must be a resident of Oswego County.  Children’s Board may be able to help you but you need to contact one of these individual who can serve in an official liaison role, on your behalf.  This may even be fulfilled by a case worker of DSS.
